Detroit blight ticket — what it is, what it is not
Blight is buildings/yards. Dumping is Improve Detroit. Tax is HOPE. Do not mix the three.
A blight ticket is Buildings, Safety, Engineering and Environmental (BSEED) territory — grass, open, dump on your parcel, housing code. Illegal dumping in the alley is Improve Detroit. Falling behind on tax is HOPE / Treasurer.
Read the ticket number. Pay or contest on the city’s process. We do not erase tickets. We name the department.
