Michigan teen work permit — YEPP replaces school permits (Oct 2, 2026)
New youth work permits go through Michigan's YEPP portal with MiLogin. Schools stopped issuing them Oct 2, 2026. Old permits still count until you change jobs.
As of October 2, 2026, Michigan employers and minors use the Youth Employment Permit Portal (YEPP) for new youth work permits. Local schools no longer issue new permits.
Employers must register in YEPP before hiring minors. Minors complete their portion online through MiLogin. Employers notify LEO when a minor's job ends.
